Arisia Query, and GAFilk Coda

Q: Is anyonw driving up to Arisia and back willing to carry about 10 cubic feet of cardboard pyramids from the upper east side to the park plaza and back? (I'm trying to get CUGC's icehouse pieces up to Boston so they can make friends with the Boston group's pieces).

And for those interested, here's the "Josh's stuff casualty toll" for GAFilk (was well worth it, though):

• $400 (now, $600 when I bought it) S40 digital camera: mysteriously went blind before or at GAFilk.
  
• sidekick: developed a crack in its case, though it's still quite functional.
  
• Boar Bristle Hairbrish: handle broken off while in checked luggage.
  
• 2 pretty lighters: abandoned after found by security
  
• 7 year old(ish) bodhran: torn in half by security
  
• Handera: developed annoying but not yet fatal screen artifacts shortly before GAFilk

I understand it is possible to get security to pay for items they cause to become broken in the normal course of their job, especially musical instruments. For further details, chat with Steve Macdonald (tarkrai about the hole they caused to his guitar -through- the travel-approved case it was in. He may have some pointers to add that might prove helpful. -H...

I know. I actually left my paperwork at home last night or I would have called today, but I did start a claim before I left the airport.

Of course, this would be much more worthwhile if the drum had a book value higher than $50 or so; it's primary loss here is the annoyance of having to select and purchase a new drum.

I wonder if you can claim it as have a worth greater than it's value so much so that they are required to pay more than book for it. Isn't there some clause in most kinds of claims about heirlooms, and items needed for livlihood and those kinds of things? Maybe none of which applies, just don't setttle for book if you have a legit reason to claim it has a worth greater than its value. -H...

My car has suffered an injury to the front-driver's side tire as part of an attempt to cure my laptop's worsening injury in the power-supply-connector region. I don't know how well it will recover.

If it isn't too hurt, it has the volume to accomodate said pyramids, and we can figure out a reasonable solution to the 50 mile distance between my car and the pyramids, I'd be happy to give the pyramids a ride. Not sure that's much help, but consider it a "maybe" plus an "I'll see what I can do".

Sorry to hear about your GAFilk casualties, particularly the bodhran... :(
