Date: 2004-03-17 08:30 pm (UTC)I'd suggest including the cost of your time when figuring the $ damages to your drum. It is not as if a new drum - that you like as well as the old one - will magically appear once they cut you a check. Pay yourself well for this - it is a punitive as well as compensatory figure.
That you were considering replacing the drum is irrelevant to your damages - and frankly, 'they' need some reminders about respecting property. The straw man of 'safe airlines' cannot be allowed to trump all other concerns, because if it really really did we'd all fly bound and gagged.
