I'm glad to have met you, albeit we didn't get to talk much at all. What they've done to your drum sucks big-time - I'd definitely be pushing for compensation to cover a new drum - or at least the re-skinning of this one. They *owe* you!
(And maybe they need to get a pointer as to how *not* to treat musical instruments *ever*!)
