I think that stuff running on the DW codebase will be able to see foriegn accounts in their friends page and leave comments in a manner that works, etc (or rather, they have strong plans to code this) -- but unless LJ imports some of DW's changes, then users on lj-side will be stuck with the model they have now (unauthenticated RSS, have to click through to leave/see comments).
