I haven't read the post in question, but I take the fact that I can't walk two blocks on any street in town without hearing some little girl (or the occasional little boy) singing "Let It Go" or "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?" as proof that it's a hit with its intended audience.
Personally, I think it's a well done movie and I like that it takes some of the standard Disney tropes (finding the handsome prince and the talking animal sidekick, for instance) and turns them sideways. I also like that Anna is a strong female character who doesn't wait around for the stud to save her. When she gets help from Kristoff it's help, not "Oh come save poor weak me."
