5) I want my kids to be healthy and happy, and to know that I had some part in making them so. It'd be nice if they also know it, when they're old enough to; I'm not immune to the desire for them to love and be glad of me. But that's less important by a lot than that it be true. For that matter, whether I ever have opportunity to know it at all is less important by a lot than that it be true.
