My biggest problem was the fact they have turned Spike into bumbling comic relief. I ache for the Spike of season 2 Buffy when he was dangerous. I kept on trying to tell myself that the same Spike in the sub a few decade later would take down the 70s Slayer on the subway car. They seemed totally different creatures.
